Ahh the iPhone 4. It’s one popular phone — and the media has been covering the problems it’s had with the antenna for a while now. While everyone who got it at first thought it was the best thing since, well, the last iPhone, once we found out it had a MAJOR HORRIBLE ANTENNA FLAW, we looked at it as somewhat… less-than.
With the news media going ape crazy about the story and talking to every tech “expert” under the sun (most of whom had no clue about the real technical problems going on with antennas in the iPhone), Apple felt the need to get ahead of the story, even if they did it too late.
Enter Steve Jobs – giving away cases for every iPhone 4 puchased so far. The cases will cover the problematic external antenna and solve the problem, unless you think the cases are ugly. Which most of them are.
After buying a pretty phone, why cover it with a cheap plastic colorful… thing?
That’s when we thought of using a skin, kind of like a clear, removable sticker, to not only protect the phone from scratches, but to cover up the antenna and solve both problems while retaining the look of our shiny shiny new iPhone 4.
We used skins from BestSkinsEver.com since they not only cover the entire phone, but come pretty cheap. The company also uses as little packaging as possible to save you money, but also the environment. Win-win.
Do the cases help solve the problem of the dropping antenna bars? You’ll have to watch the video to find out!
